Globe broadband Internet grows
Globe Telecom’s broadband business is steadily chalking up market share, as evidenced by robust revenues generated in the first nine months of the year.
Globe said broadband business posted double digit growth in both revenues and customer base in the first three quarters against the previous year.
It said as of end-September 2014, broadband service revenues climbed 16 percent to P9 billion from P7.8 billion a year ago. Broadband customer base hit over 2.5 million, or 36 percent higher than the previous year’s 1.9 million.
Globe senior vice president for consumer broadband Gilbert Simpao said the impressive performance of broadband business could be attributed to the availability of a wide range of product offers that best fit the customers’ budget, needs and lifestyle, and the company’s continuing efforts to invest heavily in strengthening its data infrastructure.
Simpao said the company’s broadband business’ market share more than doubled since 2008.
Globe’s wireless broadband services, which include Tattoo Mobile Broadband, posted a 42-percent growth in customer base, while Tattoo Home posted an 11-percent increase in the number of customers after the first nine months of the year.
