Smartphones with best camera features available in the Philippines in 2018
Mobile phones have evolved, from just call-and-text devices a decade ago into Internet-enabled smartphones that capture, store and load images and videos in a few seconds. One of the most important features of smartphones today is the dual cameras that can far exceed the functionality of the traditional digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera. With the 'selfie' phenomenon, smartphones now offer dual cameras, and some phones have more powerful front cameras than rear cameras to easily capture portraits while looking at the screen.
Here are the leading smartphones with best camera features that are available in the Philippines in early 2018. However, they come with a heavy price tag, ranging from P18,000 for Vivo V7 Plus to P70,000 for iPhone X.
One Plus 5T and Huawei Mate 10 Pro have the most powerful main or rear camera, with a maximum resolution of 20 megapixels (MP) each. Vivo V7 Plus has the best front camera, with 24-MP resolution, followed by Oppo F5 with 20 MP and HTC U11 with 16 MP. Megapixel, which means one million pixels, represents the resolution of an image. However, it does not necessarily represent the quality of the image.
Of course, the resolution–the volume of pixels that the camera can capture in a single shot–is not the only factor affecting the quality of an image. Other factors are at play in a smartphone camera including the sensors, lens, dual LED flash, optical zoom, focal length, software, image processor, memory card, shutter speed, auto focus, aperture (exposure), shooting modes, white balance, red eye, HDR, panorama, face detection, geo-tagging and touch screen.
