Google Solutions for Filipino Entrepreneurs

Google is promoting its business solutions in the Philippines. The Internet giant seeks to equip the more than 800,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines with the right tools.

Google, along with Google Developers Group (GDG) and Google Business Group (GBG) held tech talks during the “Google for Entrepreneurs Week” on October 4, 2013 at the AIM Conference Center at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati City.

The tech talks featured workshops for entrepreneurs and developers by experts in business and tech. The event is just one of the 45 cities worldwide that will host events including community meetups, mentorship sessions, and product training workshops.

In 2012, 3,000 entrepreneurs attended Google for Entrepreneurs Week events in 29 cities and 14 countries.

Google for Entrepreneurs Week is our way of celebrating a year of empowering entrepreneurs around the world through programs, partnerships, and products through the Google for Entrepreneurs team,” said Aileen Apolo-de Jesus, Outreach Program Manager for Google Southeast Asia

“At Google, we value the role of entrepreneurs and developers in nation-building, so we provide them a venue to be educated about Google tools to help their businesses succeed.”

The morning session started off with a talk about entrepreneurs on how Google tools can be used for business, followed by talks about Google AdWords, Google Trends, Google Analytics, and Google+

The afternoon session featured discussions on the Google App Engine, Chrome and HTML5, Android, AdSense and Admob, Google Analytics, Google Apps, Google Maps, Google+, and YouTube.

Representatives from Google Philippines, various agencies, and experts from the GBG and GDG communities also spoke during the event.

“Technology is a powerful tool to empower Filipino entrepreneurs and developers to succeed in their craft, and this event is just one of the many we’re hosting to help them along the way. Throughout the year, we hold several informative sessions through the GBG and GDG communities. To reach more people, we’re making these events accessible to the public for free,” said Apolo-de Jesus.

Google for Entrepreneurs has programs all over the world to foster entrepreneurship, empowering the next generation of innovators to be successful.

GBG is a community of business professionals sharing knowledge about Google web technologies for business success, while GDG is a community for developers to learn about Google's developer technologies such as Android, App Engine, Chrome platforms, and Google product Application Programming Interface (API).
