Data appearing in this web project were compiled from
government statistics, newspaper reports, magazine articles, corporate
publications, books, websites and other reliable materials. While most
data have been properly attributed to their sources, original sources
of some information that have long been in circulation could not be
possibly identified.
Sentences and phrases were reworded to avoid plagiarism.
A number of information pertaining to world records in the Philippines
are not necessarily accepted worldwide, although the Philippine government,
particularly the Department of Tourism, use them in promotional materials.
The project takes pride about the country's natural,
cultural and human wealth and seeks to put on record the extraordinary
feats accomplished by Filipinos, be they illustrious or unknown. Treatment
of each subject is according to the popular opinion of the time. While
objectivity is its primary goal, the author attempts analysis over subjects
deemed controversial. Data contained in this project are for general
information purposes only.
For more specific information in each topic, other reference
materials should be consulted. The latter part of the project contains
the author's belief and conviction about the country's problems and
their solutions and the salvation of the Filipino people.
The author would like to express his gratitude to the
following people for making this project possible: his family for bearing
with him in sickness and good health; staff of the Filipinas Heritage
Library in Makati City, CCP Library in Manila, and Netopia Internet
Café in Ortigas for their warm accommodation; and all the people who
believe in truth.
